CPR & First Aid Certification Course
9AM to 1:0PM, Saturday January 18, 2025
Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps (PNEC) is offering a new lay rescuer CPR and First Aid Certification course, to be held on Saturday, January 18th, from 9am till 1:00pm at the LDS Church, located at 14211 Twin Peaks Rd, Poway CA 92064.
**Cost: $65 per person. Includes 2 year certification which is approved through EMSA of California.
Those attending this course will receive a certification card. The minimum participating age is 12 years. This class is for the general public, NEW EMSA School Bus Driver changes allow for this course! Also satisfies requirements for daycare providers, non-healthcare providers such as personal trainers, coaches, school teachers, construction workers and meets OSHA standards.
The skills covered in the CPR portion are:
- Adult, child, & infant (pediatric) CPR
- Choking for the conscious and unconscious victim, and
- Demonstration of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
In our First Aid portion you will learn the importance of proper patient assessment. After a thorough evaluation of the patient you will learn skills such as:
- Bleeding control
- Immobilization of fractures, strains, and sprains
- Burn care
- Care for shock
- How to care for many medical emergencies such as Asthma, Diabetics, Seizures, Anaphylactic shock, and many more
