Alternative Power Options

Thank you to PNEC member Mike D. for presenting on home power backup options. While Poway might not get power outages due to snow and ice, we could easily lose power to wind and wildfires. During the meeting solar power and generator options for alternative energy sources during a power outage were discussed. Please note that the presentation is informational only; we recommend using this to start your own research including speaking with a professional.

Whether you opt for a whole home generator, solar power, or a portable generator to run a few appliances – being prepared to live without main grid electricity for at least 72 hours is a best practice for emergency preparedness.
