Safety Fair

In 2015 PNEC held its first emergency preparedness fair at Old Poway Park, and it is now an annual event. This is a wonderful opportunity to come out and learn about emergency preparedness from a variety of vendors and local organizations focused on preparedness.

PNEC hosts community meetings covering a variety of topics related to emergency preparedness and fire safety. These open meetings are held at Poway’s Council Chambers.   Please join us at Council Chambers, 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway.

Night Out

National Night Out is a nationwide community-police awareness raising event held the first Tuesday of August. The San Diego Sheriff’s Poway Station hosts the event locally. PNEC participates with a booth providing participants educational material on emergency and disaster preparedness.

Field Day

Field day is an annual amateur radio exercise. open to the public, which encourages emergency communications preparedness among amateur radio operators. It is held across the United States with over 30,000 operators participating yearly. Field day is held the fourth full weekend of June. It is hosted locally by Poway Amateur Radio Society and usually held at Poway Lake. PNEC’s ham radio operators are actively involved in this exercise and provide public displays and information about ham radio. PNEC regularly participates in field day by providing disaster and emergency preparedness information.
