Poway Parks and Trails Update - May 01, 2020

The County of San Diego’s public health order is still in effect, however new updates have relaxed restrictions on local parks. As of May 1, parks are now permitted to be open for active recreational use with some restrictions. Please follow these protocols while using City of Poway parks:
- Do not enter city parks if you have a cough or fever.
- Maintain social distancing at all times. Keep 6 feet from anyone not in your household.
- A face covering is needed if you are within 6 feet of anyone not in your household.
- Use of active sports areas are limited to members of a single household. No organized sports. Active sports areas include basketball, tennis and bocce courts and fields.
Playground structures remain closed; however parking lots will be opened at half-capacity (per the updated County order). In coordination with our sheriff deputies, city staff will monitor our parks to help ensure our guests are responsibly using our facilities.
The Iron Mountain Wilderness Area and the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve will open for hiking beginning Saturday, May 2. Parking lots will be opened at half-capacity (per the updated County order).
